Vegas Baby

Its August 2014 and we had a holiday booked to Pensacola Florida, that was until we realized that the weather forecast for the week was rain, rain and more rain, so we cancelled and looked for a new option.

Found a deal for the 4 of us to go the the MGM grand in Vegas with flights for 5 days, it seemed like a good idea so off we went.

Yep thats a roller coaster on top of the building, Darcy wanted to go on it!

Pictures above from the top of the Eiffel Tower, not the real one.

We decided to drive to the Grand Canyon, 4 hour drive there and 4 hours back again, trust us to pick a day when it is cloudy and you can see nothing!!
This is really the Grand Canyon!!

Cedah moving on to high school

We are so pleased with both our children in the USA, they have adapted well and after a full year at school both have come out with some amazing grades, both came out with grades in the 90's and Darcy has moved into a pace maths group for next year ( Year 8 maths rather than year 7) and Cedah is doing Pre-AP Human Science, Biology and Spanish. Great work from both of them.

End of Year and Cedah has her graduation party.

Of course not to leave out my eldest, Jessica, she last year qualified as a Paediatric nurse from University and is now out in the real world working for a living :)

Sea World San Antonio

The weeks holiday was action packed! Day 2 and we are off to Sea World, this time we stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast :)

Quite expensive to get in and we only did the Sea World park and not the water park, I found a discount on Groupon but was still $35 a head.

It was a very warm day at 95 but enough shade not to worry, the kids, older ones included enjoyed the rides. Darcy is at last big enough to go on aqll of them which really pleased her.

How they have grown, Cedah now almost as tall as Jessica! They had just come off a water ride and were all soaked.

Yes they are on this ride. Jessica and Cedah 3rd row back and Ryan and Darcy 6th row, click on picture to enlarge it.

Houston Space Center

Its been awhile since we last posted, I have taken a week off work and my eldest daughter was over from the UK with her partner, Ryan.

We decide to do a day trip from Austin to the Houston Space Center, we left around 6:30 and stopped off at a Denny's for breakfast, arriving at the Space Center about 10:30. We purchased tickets online $17 a head, which was not too bad.

It is a good day out and was worth the drive, you get to see some space rockets and the shuttle, along with a 2 hour tour around the Houston mission control and the Saturn V hanger shown above.

Trip to Boston

February and I have to go to Boston on Business.

It has been freezing in the USA, including Texas, where we have had freezing rain and the kids have been off school due to it. Tuesday 4th February I flew to Boston and then drove to Nashua in New Hampshire, when I arrived they where forecasting a snow storm that night.

Christmas in Texas

Our first Christmas in Texas!

End of November my eldest daughter Jessica came over, she was here for thanks giving and about a week into December, so that meant we put the Christmas decorations up early!

We had a quiet affair and it was a nice break from work.

December 27th Gary, Trish and Charlotte came over from Somerset, they were in Florida on holiday and flew over to us for three days, we had a great time and took them around to the normal places, Alamo and the rock oh an of course Austin city.
